Ah . . Sorry to bother you Mr. Obama, Sir…
Excuse me Mr Obama, I mean President Obama, Sir.
Um . . I know you’re busy, and important and stuff.
I mean running the county is very important and — ah — I hate to bother you Sir.
See, I have these missing pieces that are holding me up, and I was wondering Sir, if you could take time out of your busy schedule and help me out.
Well, listen, I can’t seem to get some information I need to wrap this up.
These things seem to either be “Not released” or “Not available”.
I’m sure it’s just an oversight or glitch or something, so if you could tell me where these things are.
I’ll just read it to you.
Could you please help me find these things, Sir?

Oh and one more thing, Senator, I can’t seem to find any articles you published as editor of the Harvard Law Review, or as a Professor at the University of Chicago . Can you explain that to me, Sir?</p>
If this is too much for you right now — I mean — I’ll tell you what.
I’ll come back tomorrow.
Give you some time to get these things together,
I’ll just let myself out.
I’ll be back tomorrow. And the day after. . What’s that Mr. President?
Who wants to know these things?
We the People of the United States of America , Sir!
You know, the ones that didn’t vote for you, Sir.

PFC Phelps was assigned to 3d Bn, 11th Marines – an artillery unit functioning as a provisional infantry battalion during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM 2. PFC Phelps was killed in action from a gunshot wound received on 9 Apr 04 during combat operations west of Baghdad. He was buried in Dubois, WY on 17 Apr 04.
TAKING CHANCE
Lance Cpl. Chance Russel Phelps USMC
Chance Phelps was wearing his Saint Christopher medal when he was killed on Good Friday. Eight days later, I handed the medallion to his mother. I didn’t know Chance before he died. Today, I miss him.
Over a year ago, I volunteered to escort the remains of Marines killed in Iraq should the need arise. The military provides a uniformed escort for all casualties to ensure they are delivered safely to the next of kin and are treated with dignity and respect along the way.
Thankfully, I hadn’t been called on to be an escort since Operation Iraqi Freedom began. The first few weeks of April, however, had been a tough month for the Marines. On the Monday after Easter I was reviewing Department of Defense press releases when I saw that a Private First Class Chance Phelps was killed in action outside of Baghdad. The press release listed his hometown—the same town I’m from. I notified our Battalion adjutant and told him that, should the duty to escort PFC Phelps fall to our Battalion, I would take him.
I didn’t hear back the rest of Monday and all day Tuesday until 1800. The Battalion duty NCO called my cell phone and said I needed to be ready to leave for Dover Air Force Base at 1900 in order to escort the remains of PFC Phelps.
Before leaving for Dover I called the major who had the task of informing Phelps’s parents of his death. The major said the funeral was going to be in Dubois, Wyoming. (It turned out that PFC Phelps only lived in my hometown for his senior year of high school.) I had never been to Wyoming and had never heard of Dubois.

Originally published at Infi(del)icious. Please leave any comments there. On this special day, Memorial Day, we honor all of those who have served and are still serving our great nation, the United States of America.
To the families who have lost loved ones, past & present, you have our deepest thanks and you have not been forgotten. Your loss has kept our country and many other countries free.
To the families that have members still serving in Iraq & Afghanistan and anyplace else on this planet and in space, you’re insuring that our freedom is maintained for our future children.
To my brother’s & sister’s in the military, I think about all of you each and every day. As a former military member we are the ones who really pray the hardest for peace. I know how hard it is to complete the mission when it usually ends in the hardest thing we must do, kill. There isn’t a day that goes by when, like you, I pray for peace and want our buddies to get home safe to be with our families.
To the people around the world who have lost people in wars and conflicts you are also remembered. Memorial day isn’t just for the military, it is for everyone who has made a sacrifice for freedom, you don’t have to be just an American.
To our nations politicians who vote for wars, remember that the end results is always death and the loss of families & friends. We are all neighbours on this planet. We all have families that you sacrifice for your decisions, we all pay the price.
To the terrorists, killing innocent people and crimes against humanity, you are only making those people martyrs for the cause of freedom. You are the ones who create memorials for the innocent and soldiers who want peace. You will never have memorials built like ones for WW1, WW2, Korean & Vietnam wars. You will only be remembered as the ones who murdered children, entire families and killed innocent people. You validate the Memorial Days all over the world.
So on this day, Memorial Day, I pray for peace. I pray for forgiveness. I pray for tolerance. I pray that one day hatred and wars will be replaced with understanding, thoughtfulness & tolerance.

In a triumph for “Palestinianism” — which Bat Ye’or thumbnails as “a replacement theory whereby Palestine replaces Israel” (her complete definition here) — Pope Benedict wholly swallowed and regurgitated the PA narrative in his disgracefully contextless lamentation over the separation fence Israel built to keep PA suicide bombers from exploding in Israel’s grocery stores, cafes and buses.
“Just yards from the barrier separating Israelis and Palestinians,” as the New York Times put it, the Pope “expressed solidarity on Wednesday with `all the homeless Palestinians who long to be able to return to their birthplace, or live permanently in a homeland of their own.’ ”
Sounds as if the pontiff is pushing the Israel-finisher of so-called “right of return” to boot. The Times report continued:
Speaking before the “towering” background of the “concrete-and-barbed-wire barrier and checkpoint … deliberately chosen to strengthen his case,” Benedict decried the barrier as “a stark reminder … ”
Let’s pause. A stark reminder of what? The perpetual jihad waged against a former dhimmi population (in this case, the Jews) for the audacity of reclaiming their ancestral homeland from former Muslim masters? Nope. The pope called the barrier a “stark reminder of the stalemate that relations between Israelis and Palestinians seem to have reached.”
Just like that. “Stalemate.” “Seem to have reached.” Benedict went on:
“In a world where more and more borders are being opened up — to trade, to travel, to movement of peoples, to cultural exchanges — it is tragic to see walls still being erected.”
Voila. The Pope has just given the post-modern gloss to the separation fence. He has denuded it of its purpose, and depicted it as an arbitrary, context-less piece of miserable bric a brac.
Is it really “tragic” to see a wall that stops mass murder? It is the mass murder that is tragic — indeed, that is an abomination. But the pope ignores this. The human life lost without the wall — indeed, the human life saved by the wall — has become invisible to Benedict. For the pope, all of these lives have been replaced with Palestinianism, the amoral, a historical creed that is driving Israel out of existence.
The article continues, explaining that the PA had invited Benedict to Aida, a refugee camp, “because its proximity to the barrier would give it s `a political message,’ said Issa Qarage,” a Fatah MP.
And the pope complied. Later, “the children of parents of prisoners in Israel presented him with gifts….Speaking before the Pope, Palestinian officials noted that his visit coincided with the 61st anniversary of the 1948 war leading to the creation of the state of Israel, which several officials referred to as `the naqba,’ or `catastrophe.’ ”
Just FYI: The UN creation of the state of Israel triggered the 1948 war; not vice versa. But that’s small potatoes next to the grotesque thought of the leader of the Catholic church, in possession of “gifts” from jihadists’ children, sitting through “several officials” ranting about the “naqba” — the catastrophe of the state of Israel.

Having spent this morning catching up on my weekend reading, I came across this (9) Page 4 article from Friday’s New York Times. Here’s the lead paragraph: “BAGHDAD — At least 80 people died and 120 others were injured Thursday in three bombings, one by a female suicide bomber in Baghdad who, Iraqi officials said, held a young child’s hand as she set off her explosives among a group of women and children receiving emergency food aid.”
Even putting aside our baseline revulsion at terrorism, there are three especially hideous things that jump out from this:
1) A mother deliberately taking her (presumed) child with her as she immolates herself. For all the hundreds of suicide bombings that Iraq has already witnessed, this has got to be a first.
2) This was a line for food aid. Islamists have gone from attacking U.S. soldiers, to attacking Iraqi soldiers, to attacking police stations, to attacking the religious ceremonies of rival sects — on down the line of nihilism until, now, they are reduced to blowing up hungry people seeking sustenance.
3) This hideous crime was played on page four of The New York Times. And a quick scan of other media suggests it got similar B-rate treatment elsewhere. This sort of act would have been worth a worldwide banner headline a decade ago. But now, it’s just another demented Islamist senselessly slaughtering fellow Muslims. With her kid. Yawn.
Says a lot about the world we live in, doesn’t it?

So, Let’s Recap–
1. The American people elect a black president with a total of 142 days experience as a US Senator from the most politically-corrupt state in America whose governor is ousted from office. The President’s first official act is to order the close of Gitmo and make sure terrorists civil rights are not violated.
(He screwed up!!)
2. The U.S. Congress rushes to confirm a black Attorney General, Eric Holder, whose law firm we later find out represents seventeen Gitmo Terrorists. (An honest mistake!)
3. The CIA Boss appointee, Leon Panetta, has absolutely no experience, has a daughter Linda we find out, who is a true radical anti-American activist and a supporter of all the Anti-American regimes in the western hemisphere. (There were socio-economic factors involved!)
4. We got the most corrupt female in America as Secretary of State; bought and paid for.
(You can put lipstick on a pig, but it will still have cankles!)
5. We got a Tax Cheat for Treasury Secretary who files his own taxes. (He misspoke!)
6. A Commerce Secretary nominee who withdrew due to corruption charges. (Another honest mistake???)
7. A Tax cheat nominee for Chief Performance Officer who withdrew under charges.
(Hmmm… another screw-up?)
8. A Labor Sec’y nominee who withdrew under charges of unethical conduct. (Ok, maybe this person was just plain stupid)
9. A Sec’y HHS nominee who withdrew under charges of cheating on his taxes. (I’m running out of excuses for these idiots!!)
10. Multiple appointments of former lobbyists after an absolute campaign statement that no lobbyists would be appointed. (Dear God, I need a drink!)
And that’s just the first three weeks. . . but who’s counting? America is being run by the modern-day Three Stooges ~ Barrack, Nancy , and Hilary ~ and they are still trying to define stimulus…”it’s spending”…
The congress passes the $800,000,000,000 (that’s $800 billion) pork loaded spending bill where the government gives you a smidgen of your tax dollars ($13 per week) making you feel so good about yourself [stimulated] that you want to run out to Wal-Mart and buy a new Chinese-made HDTV and go home and watch Telemundo!
Yee-haw!!! Only in America , what a country… We are lost… Here’s the good news though… Obama took Air Force One to Denver to sign the stimulus package, wasting as much as 10,000 gallons of fuel. Don’t you just love this guy?
In these times “I’ll keep my God, my freedom, my gun and my money. You can keep “THE CHANGE”.
Scary isn’t it ?

Dear Freedom Center Supporter,
The radical, hate-America Left never quits. Nearly every good, decent American tradition or organization is under ferocious attack. These radicals want blood. They want to shred and destroy every vestige of our conservative society.
Today these ultra-leftists are focused on the men and women who have proudly served in our armed forces.
The Freedom Center is joining in another legal battle against the ACLU. This time it’s the ACLU’s attack on the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Here’s the background: In 1934, a California VFW chapter created a tribute honoring Americans who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country. On that memorial, the VFW raised a cross - not as a religious symbol, but as a secular monument for people to see and recognize the bravery and love of country their colleagues had for America. The cross was placed on Sunrise Rock in a remote area in California’s Mojave Desert, in what is now a federal preserve.
Frank Buono first saw the cross in 1995 when he was working in the area. He later moved to Oregon and planned to move back to the Mojave Desert (in 2001) - where he could see the memorial from a nearby road. Buono decided the cross had to go. He contacted the ACLU, which readily took his case.
For nearly 70 years, the cross on the VFW’s powerful, compassionate memorial to fallen American soldiers stood in silent tribute. In an instant, one man and a radical leftist organization decided to wipe it out.
The VFW lost in the lower courts, and the case is now before the U.S. Supreme Court.
The Freedom Center is going to jump into this legal battle to support the VFW’s efforts to continue to display the cross. Will you help us today? Will you make a contribution of $25, $50, $100 or even $250 to our Individual Rights Foundation Legal Fund? (6)
You have long supported the Freedom Center and our legal arm, the Individual Rights Foundation (IRF). You know well the tactics of the rabid leftists who want to erase any evidence of America’s proudest traditions or organizations. Witness the endless attacks on the Boy Scouts of America, for example.
Now the ACLU and people like Frank Buono are displaying their open contempt for our men and women in uniform.
So, I readily agreed to have the IRF prepare yet another powerful argument against yet another ACLU attack. But I need your support.
We have a chance to make a difference here. In fact, the Freedom Center’s legal team is fighting the radical left on a number of fronts:
The Freedom Center is fighting to protect the First Amendment rights of Joe Kaufman, who has been critical of Muslim terrorists and has a web site dedicated to exposing radical Islamic terrorists. He is being sued by Islamic groups who want to shut him up. The IRF is working diligently to defend Joe Kaufman.
Boy Scouts of America troops across the nation are routinely sued by the ACLU and other groups that want to tear this great organization apart. The IRF has provided a number of “friends of the court” briefs in these cases. With your help we will continue to do so.
Bottom line: Your support makes all the difference. We simply would not be able to challenge these radicals - and protect America’s fundamental rights - without the dedicated financial support of Americans like you.
So, please, follow this link to make am immediate contribution to our Individual Rights Legal Defense Fund!
Thank you again for all of your help - your courageous support! Because of your unselfishness, I’m able to take the fight straight into the trenches against the radical Left. It’s because of you the Freedom Center is making a difference in the war for our culture, for our American way of life.
Sincerely,

David Horowitz
President & Founder
P.S. I cannot overemphasize how important you are to my fight against a vicious, small but powerful force in America - the rabid soldiers of the hate-America Left! Please, let’s take the fight to them. Use any of the hyperlinks throughout this email and contrbute to our Fund and make a difference! Thanks again.

Originally published at Infi(del)icious. Please leave any comments there. Remember the Danish cartoon crisis? Riots and mayhem, trade boycotts, burnt-down embassies, more than 100 killed in violent demonstrations, death threats against artists and editors. All of it the result of the Danish daily Jyllands-Posten’s decision to publish 12 cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammed on 30 September 2005. One cartoon in particular stood out as the focus of world-wide Islamic rage and has since acquired the status as the iconic image of our age: Kurt Westergaard’s drawing of the prophet with a bomb in his turban. This is the picture that won Kurt Westergaard world fame but also meant that he has been forced to live under constant police protection ever since its publication. Despite contracts on his head and determined efforts by Islamists to kill him, Kurt Westergaard has never recanted and never apologized for being a free artist. Now you can own your exclusive reproduction of this icon, which has never been offered for sale before. In collaboration with the artist, the Free Press Society in Denmark and the International Free Press Society have printed up a limited edition of 1000 copies. Each copy is individually numbered and signed by Kurt Westergaard. The picture is printed in durable colors on fine paper 42 by 21.5 centimeters, suitable for framing. It will be delivered in a solid cardboard tube. It can be yours for US $ 250, postage and handing included, but exclusive of customs dues or VAT where applicable. The proceeds from this offer will go towards the International Free Press Society’s continuous campaign for free speech. Westergaard Signs up for Free Speech
1000 reprints of Muhammad with the bomb put up for sale
By Anders Raahauge
(COPENHAGEN, April 2, 2009) The by far most famous of the 12 Danish Muhammad cartoons, Kurt Westergaard’s prophet with a bomb in his turban, has been reprinted to raise money for the international fight for free speech.
One thousand individually numbered and signed copies of the “Big Mo” cartoon will be sold for US $ 250 a piece. The proceeds will go to the International Free Press Society.

Printers declined
As an ironic twist it immediately became clear why it is necessary to strike a blow for free speech as it proved impossible to find a Danish printer who would take on the job. The Danish chapter of the International Free Press Society was forced to have the work done abroad as no Danish printer would touch it.
After asking six printers the Danish Free Press Society (TFS) gave up. A local printer let it be known that it was futile to continue the search for a willing printer as the rumor of what the TFS was up to had already spread.
Says President of the Free Press Society Lars Hedegaard: “The printer told us that Danish print shops talk among themselves.”
“This shows us that our name is well chosen. By republishing Kurt Westergaard’s cartoon we intend to strike a blow at a level where free speech is actually threatened. And that is not at the level of the law.”
“Freedom of expression is protected under our constitution and no politician intends to change that. So the enemies of free speech are not demanding a constitutional amendment but operate at a more dangerous and effective level, i.e. by intimidating the private sphere.”
“Formal freedom is worthless when actual freedom is under pressure and when one’s right to disseminate information or opinions is non-existent.”
Will approach politicians
Lars Hedegaard fears that there may come a time when printers will be too scared to print certain books. Or when internet providers will close down certain websites.
“The problem is that in such cases one cannot appeal to the courts. It is not illegal for printers or internet providers to claim that they are too frightened to take on certain jobs.”
“I will now ask our politicians what they intend to do to make sure that our constitutionally guaranteed right of free speech can be exercised in the real world. A right that people dare not or cannot exercise is worth nothing.”
Order through website
Lars Hedegaard dismisses the notion that the International Free Press Society is simply trying to stir up trouble in a situation where the original cartoon crisis seemed to have abated.
“No. It doesn’t concern us in the least whether imam Abdul Wahid Pedersen [one of the ringleaders of the Muslim rage in Denmark, ed.] has calmed down or not. We are doing this to generate funds for our struggle. Neither the Danish nor the International Free Press Society gets any public funding. In a few days cartoon can be ordered through our Danish and international websites.”
The artist Kurt Westergaard is amazed at his creation’s strange and unruly life.
“In reality it is out of my control and leads its own life around the world, where I notice that it raises its head time and again. Now at least I have a chance to be in on the process.”
Lack of support
“Other players use the cartoon to play political games both at home and abroad. Turkey, for example, is now using it to try to prevent Prime Minster Anders Fogh Rasmussen from becoming Secretary General of NATO.”
“I’m disappointed that I get practically no support from my own class - from the intellectual and creative segment. This segment has several institutions here in Aarhus [where Westergaard lives and Jyllands-Posten is published, ed.], but they haven’t said a word.”
Like the Free Press Society Kurt Westergaard hasn’t given a thought to the eventuality that the republication of his cartoon may stir up trouble.
“I simply don’t have the mindset to crawl into a mouse hole. I have to live with fear, but I must insist on my right to do as I please.”

Computer Experts Unite to Hunt Worm
An extraordinary behind-the-scenes struggle is taking place between computer security groups around the world and the brazen author of a malicious software program called Conficker.
The program grabbed global attention when it began spreading late last year and quickly infected millions of computers with software code that is intended to lash together the infected machines it controls into a powerful computer known as a botnet.
Since then, the program’s author has repeatedly updated its software in a cat-and-mouse game being fought with an informal international alliance of computer security firms and a network governance group known as the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (0). Members refer to the alliance as the Conficker Cabal.

This is not only about the bonuses.
These people approved the bailout knowing about the bonuses and approving them.
AIG has been a personal investment for lawmakers, too. Twenty-eight current members of Congress reported owning stock in AIG (0) in 2007, worth between $2.5 million and $3.3 million. Sen. John Kerry (0) (D-Mass.), one of the richest members of Congress, was by far the biggest investor in AIG, with stock valued around $2 million.

Geneva, March 11, 2009 — A new U.N. resolution circulated today by Islamic states would define any questioning of Islamic dogma as a human rights violation, intimidate dissenting voices, and encourage the forced imposition of Sharia law. (See full U.N. text below.)
UN Watch obtained a copy of the Pakistani-authored proposal after it was distributed today among Geneva diplomats attending the current session of the UN Human Rights Council. Entitled “Combating defamation of religions,” it mentions only Islam.
While non-binding, the resolution constitutes a dangerous threat to free speech everywhere. It would ban any perceived offense to Islamic sensitivities as a “serious affront to human dignity” and a violation of religious freedom, and would pressure U.N. member states — at the “local, national, regional and international levels” — to erode free speech guarantees in their “legal and constitutional systems.”
It’s an Orwellian text that distorts the meaning of human rights, free speech, and religious freedom, and marks a giant step backwards for liberty and democracy worldwide.
The first to suffer will be moderate Muslims in the countries that are behind this resolution, like Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Pakistan, who seek international legitimacy for state-sanctioned blasphemy laws that stifle religious freedom and outlaw conversions from Islam to other faiths.
Next to suffer from this U.N.-sanctioned McCarthyism will be writers and journalists in the democratic West, with the resolution targeting the media for the “deliberate stereotyping of religions, their adherents and sacred persons.”

The UN conference on racism is expected to open in Geneva in Apri
|
The US is likely to boycott a UN racism conference, reports suggest, saying a text drawn up for the event criticizes Israel and restricts freedom of speech.
An unnamed state department official said the draft document for April’s forum in Geneva was “unsalvageable”.
Canada and Israel have also said they plan to boycott the meeting.
In 2001, US and Israeli delegates walked out of a similar conference in Durban, South Africa, when a draft document likened Zionism to racism.
The 2001 draft expressed “deep concern” at the “increase of racist practices of Zionism and anti-Semitism”.
It talked of the emergence of “movements based on racism and discriminatory ideas, in particular the Zionist movement, which is based on racial superiority”.
‘Unsalvageable’
A US delegation traveled to Geneva for negotiations earlier in February to try to agree the conference’s final document.
“Unfortunately, the document being negotiated has gone from bad to worse,” the unnamed state department official was quoted as saying by the Washington Post newspaper.
“The current text of the draft of the outcome document is, in the United States government’s estimation, unsalvageable.
“As a result the United States will not participate in the forthcoming negotiations on this text, nor will we be able to participate in a conference that is based on this text,” the official said.
Washington says the proposed text unfairly singles out Israel for criticism.
US officials say they are also concerned that some sections of the draft - which call for restrictions on the defamation of religions - could threaten free speech.

Merrill Lynch & Co. “secretly” moved up the date it awarded bonuses for 2008 and richly rewarded its executives despite billions of dollars in losses, giving bonuses of $1 million or more apiece to nearly 700 employees, New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo said.
In a letter to House Financial Service Committee Chairman Barney Frank, (D., Mass.), Mr. Cuomo said the Wall Street firm awarded $3.6 billion in bonuses to more than 39,000 employees before its Jan. 1 purchase by Bank of America (0) Corp., including more than $121 million to four top executives.
Mr. Cuomo, who is probing compensation practices at financial firms, said he was told by Merrill’s board in November that any bonuses to be paid would be “based upon a combination of performance and retention needs.”
“Rather, in a surprising fit of corporate irresponsibility, it appears that, instead of disclosing their bonus plans in a transparent way as requested by my office, Merrill Lynch secretly moved up the planned date to allocate bonuses and then richly rewarded their failed executives,” Mr. Cuomo wrote in his letter.
The move to “secretly and prematurely award” the bonuses and “Bank of America’s apparent complicity … raise serious and disturbing questions,” Mr. Cuomo added.

February 9, 2009 — David Ogden has been picked to become the Deputy Attorney General in the Department of Justice (DOJ).
“Ogden has a long and very public record of supporting a variety of anti-family, anti-Christian causes including: abortion on demand; child pornography; and the homosexual agenda, including homosexuals serving openly in the military,” said Traditional Values Coalition Executive Director Andrea Lafferty. “He has a disdain for the safety of children and for unborn children – and considers abortion an absolute constitutional right. He’s just one more in a long line of outrageous Obama appointments of homosexuals, pro-aborts and – now – pro-pornography zealots.”
